The Perfect Gift for Your Favorite Couch Potato
With the holiday season approaching quickly, this would be the perfect gift (late, early or otherwise) to give someone whose activities involve sitting in one spot or another, without the benefit of a table, though one is needed frequently. I've included images below showing some of the ways I use my lap-desk.
On those lazy days spent reading, streaming movies or otherwise engaged electronically, one must see to ever important comfort needs to make it a pleasant experience. This one item, the LapGear Media Desk, will see you on your way to comfortable and practical session with your electronic, computerized devices of choice. After my surgery, this was invaluable. It allowed to to use the lap top, write letters, watch videos from bed.
Last year was the year of the computer for me. I know, it was the year of the Dragon by the Chinese zodiac for everyone else, but not for me. My computer was in the need of a rebuild, so I didn't waste any time. Having computer access which functions well is important to a gal like me. The laptop was in line right behind it so I decided replacement was the best route to go.
It's my practice to prop up in bed and read or stream movies. With the upgrade of the computer and purchase of the laptop, I am now able to link the computer to the laptop and work from bed. Sweet! Seeing a pattern here? Guess I'm not so much a couch potato as I am a bed bug. It was time to make things more user friendly when using my gadgets from bed. The Lap Gear Media Desk was the solution to the problem.
The versatility it possesses is what makes it work for me. I can use the tablet stand towards the back when my Nook isn't in it's cover or I can prop the ereader up tent-fashion when it is. The desk accommodates the laptop nicely. Wrist rests to either side are welcome features. The neoprene lining in the caddy tray keeps things from sliding around. There's a removable pillow on the underside which gives it just the right amount of cushion for comfort and stability from sliding around. This item can be used comfortably in bed or when sitting in your favorite chair or spot on the couch. I can also clear it off and use it for a table to down a quick meal.
There are a few negatives, one, the slide-resist grip pad can become detached. It's a quick repair with a glue gun. Two, spills on the surface need to be wiped up quickly as they may stain the finish. Third, the tablet holder can't fit the Nook HD+ when it's in the cover. All minor issues indeed.
Overall, I am pleased with this product. I recommend it highly for bed bugs and couch potatoes alike.
The well turned-out gadgeteer should be accessorized to the nines. Check out the links below to hubs discussing additional items to complete your electronics ensemble.
Used For Meds and Diabetic Prep Table
I've discovered another great use for this table - setting up the staging area for medication dispensing or diabetic testing and dosing. When used ins this way, the items can be left on the lap desk and stored on top or they can be laid out for use then put away when done. A diabetic would lay out the meter, strips, cotton balls and alcohol or alcohol wipes, sharps disposal container and injection materials as needed. This allows one to be prepared to perform the needed medical routine then stow when completed. When items are stored regularly on the table top, they can be brought to the beside or tabletop wherever they are needed. See the image above for further details.
