The Environment-Conscious Writing Tool

Updated on June 6, 2015

Perhaps it's a bit odd to find a hub on the subject of writing implements. Then, maybe not. For anyone whose writing life includes the old method of penned communication, such tools are not ancient artifacts. In fact, for many, the keyboard is the tool that shall not be named. Though there are many reasons an individual might prefer the modern version of the hieroglyph to the tap-tapping of the keyboard or text pad, I have only one which ranks high in my view of importance. The craft of said pursuit.

When all is said and done, the final result - the poem, short story or novel - is commonly enjoyed on an electronic device. The process of getting it there isn't always solely by entry from a keyboard. Many writers, whether they journal, or devise poems and stories, or record current events, start with a pen (or pencil) and paper. There's nothing more therapeutic to me than allowing my thoughts to flow onto the page through the tip of the pen. The Pilot B2P (bottle to pen) makes that an enjoyable experience every time.

This pen has a comfortable feel and touch. The design is attractive and mirrors it's origins from the plastic beverage bottle. Along with a clicker on one end and a pocket clip on the side, some designs are refillable. Though easy on the coin keeper, it's definitely not cheap or cheesy in appearance. I've given these pens as gifts and keep a ready supply at home, in my purse and soon will do so at work.

A great review on this pen: Pilot B2P Review [a blog article by The Pen Addict]

I carry a pouch full of pens in my writers group meeting tote. When I made my purse I included a special pouch for the pens I carry with a little tab to put them through within the pouch.

Green living never had it so good. Pilot's B2P line of pens are manufactured from recycled plastic bottles. They're also attractive, take for instance their new soda line of pen colors.

I have a fondness for fountain pens. Pilot offers the Justus fountain pen in addition to its B2P line. It may be just the pen I'm looking for. Even if the Justus design isn't for you, there several other styles to select from in Pilot's fine-writing line. Though I've considered other quality implements such as Montegrappa, Pelikan , Omas, Tibaldi and Conway Stewart pens, I am looking forward to acquiring one or more of the pens from Pilot's exquisite line of fountain pens.

I love colorful pens whether it's the ink or the body of the pen. These pens are a wonderful addition to my collection of writing implements.

There are many things to like about the B2P line of pens. One, durability. Things that ride around in my purse have to be hardy and able to take up for themselves. It's that kind of world in there.

Also, they have to be comfortable over long periods of use. Nothing like a little writer's cramp to end an otherwise pleasant session of putting pen to paper.

Flow. The ink has to flow as did the spice in Herbert's Dune.

Quaternarily [heh, a little writer's license], when durability is a concern, then the price must also be reasonable.
